Editing of a Film Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Editing of a Film - Essay Example All the terminologies mentioned above are meant to make the film a big success and that depends upon the way the terminologies are used. Accuracy plays the vital role with the editors who work on these terminologies to edit the movie. For instance, when considering the terminology Crosscut, it actually does the intercutting of shots from two or more scenes. Then the fragments of each scene will be presented to the viewerââ¬â¢s attention alternately. This is in fact meant for parallel action. This option is very much useful to the editors to play between the scenes and edit them in whatever way they wish.At the same time when we consider the terminology called rough cut the editor assembles the film from some selected takes only leaving some specific points alone roughly and arrives at the fair one at the later stage. So in this process, the editors try to bring the original script somehow to a minimal percentage and apply all the other editing terminologies to complete the expected movie according to the original script. After this rough cut concept, the editors may apply the other terminologies like cut, cross cut, dissolve etc. This may be customized according to the editors and each one possesses their own way of working, but at last the ultimate goal is to present the film to the viewers in a proper manner. All the terminologies might not be used for a film, but the required ones alone to present it successfully before the public.Initially, editing was done using a single system that helped the editor to cut the scenes that were not required.

Case study of an organization that has experienced or is experiencing Essay
Case study of an organization that has experienced or is experiencing an ethical dilemma - Essay Example And despite the corporationââ¬â¢s attempts to clean up its image in the global marketplace, mostly by launching Fair-trade products in various developed countries, recently Nestlà ©Ã¢â¬â¢s reputation was damaged even more by the same morally reprehensible tactics it employed decades ago (Merrett, 2007). Our case study, however, will focus expressly on the controversy which Nestlà © Corporation brought upon itself decades ago in the 1970s by utilizing questionable marketing practices in selling its products to vulnerable mothers in developing nations. These practices grant an ideal opportunity to apply normative ethical theories in an evaluative context. The normative theories of interest here will be those of deontologyââ¬â¢s duty-centric approach and utilitarianismââ¬â¢s focus upon happiness satisfaction as the highest degree of moral action. This approach will hopefully reveal the rotten core of Nestlà © Corporationââ¬â¢s past treatment of rational beings; whether or not it is the case that the company has truly changed these methods through time remains for another discussion. The present discussion, by focusing upon deontology and utilitarianism specifically, will examine the Kantian concepts of ends, utilitarian notions of value, and the evident lack of moral content backing Nestlà ©Ã¢â¬â¢s actions. Nestlà © Corporation dates back to the mid-19th century when American businessmen joined with Henri Nestlà ©, a food developer, to create what would become the centerpiece of the company. Throughout the remainder of the 19th century, the company would continue to develop ground-breaking food products. Throughout the 20th century, the firm continued to innovateââ¬âgrowing ever larger through acquisitions and mergers. In recent times, Nestlà ©Ã¢â¬â¢s line of products has revolved around a wide range of goods, including coffee, water, ice cream, infant foods, seasonings, frozen foods, refrigerated foods, pet foods, and nutritional products (Nestlà © Corporation). The organizationââ¬â¢s stated

PEST Analysis on Financial Crisis As effecting the Essay
PEST Analysis on Financial Crisis As effecting the internationalization of the Fast Food Industry - Essay Example It got 9.5 out of 10- one of the highest ranks. The government is supportive of business ventures initiated by foreign investors and has created incentives like a strong pool of educated workforce, impeccable infrastructure and consistent policies to attract investments. The peaceful conditions also provide security of business for startups or franchises which expand into the nation. There is low tolerance of hard corruption within the Japanese culture and that is reflected in their government so there will not be unnecessary hassles or hurdles for investors looking to develop the market. The Nikkei Keizai Newspaper reported in 2010 that government of Japan was going to introducing preferential tax rates from foreign companies investing in Japan as one of the incentives, they have also established FAZ (Foreign Access zones) as a measure towards creating convenience and value for these investors. A Fast food industry would benefit from these policies like any other industry or firm op erated by foreigners; supply of equipment, raw material (for the actual food) and transport of necessary technology or resources will be easier as well. Some effect on the emerging industry practices will also be from the ââ¬Å"Antimonopoly Act (AMA)â⬠set by the government which includes the Act on prohibition of private Monopolization and Maintenance of Fair Trade and several other stator laws. The intended purpose of the law is to discourage any single firm to have a hold on the pricing and supply of an industry- hence the fast food industry would be better served if instead of a single franchise, different franchises entered the market together. Furthermore, the ââ¬Å"system of labour law operating in Japanâ⬠which includes the ââ¬Ëemployment agreementââ¬â¢, ââ¬Ëindependent contractor agreementââ¬â¢ or ââ¬Ëmandate agreementââ¬â¢ might make operations difficult for the franchises which run on the US based system of hiring workers without long term ag reements. 2.2 Economic Conditions Japan is the third largest economy in the world and its economy depends on the international trade. According to 2011-2012 salary survey, the average annual income is about 3,611,556 JPY (48,000 USD).A lack of natural resources such as forests, agricultural plains, mineral deposits etc have forced Japan to build its economy on trade, to earn money to purchase the raw materials for the economy. Japan is the 5th largest importer and exporter in the world. It depends on importing certain commodities such as fuels, foodstuffs, chemicals, textiles and raw material from several countries for its industrial sectors. But Japan has also cultivated a mature industrial economy by reserving industrial leaders and technicians and a well-educated and industrious workforce, promoting a culture of high savings and investment rate and intensive promotion of industrial development and foreign trade, making it one of the major importers of technology and electronic de vices in the world. Japan experienced the greatest rate of economic growth From 1960s to 1980s, known as the ââ¬Ëpost war economic miracleââ¬â¢

Representation on the Partition of India Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Representation on the Partition of India - Essay Example For this purpose, the written piece by Anita Desai under the tag of Clear Light of Day and the film Earth by Deepa Mehta can be regarded as pioneers regarding the subject matter. This paper aims to assess the subject of India-Pakistan separation and its impact on the creation of identity by comparing the work of Deepa Mehta and Anita Desai. Talking about the film by Deepa Mehta, it was surely an attempt of showing the cultural differences which ultimately became the reason behind the complication for people to actually being individuals. In a simpler manner, it can be well said that the after the two-nation separation, there was a lot of struggle t hat was witnessed in becoming individual identity. The impact of the separation between the two nations was so horrific in the history of subcontinent that it almost became critical for people to get over with the changes which were marked in the name of two-nation separation. As depicted in the movie by the narrator ââ¬Å"It was 1947 rum bling of the British government into division of Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs entity into the two states, Pakistan and India. The pieces of India were being clamoredâ⬠. The audiences will note that the director has projected the incidents of the separation as of the Jews holocaust. The usage of term holocaust has been done by the director Deepa Mehta many times after the film was launched at the international film festival. The astounding director noted that since Jews consider the holocaust as the most brutal memory of their history, in the similar manner, the separation of India and Pakistan was their holocaust. This shows the intensity of the separation as evident from the movie. It should be noted that the movie was basically a depiction of the Novel named Cracking India. The director Deepa Mehta has shown that the relationship between different cultural communities was not so enraged until the politics became severe in the subcontinent (Mehta). The director have made sure tha t the viewer are able to understand the history of the India and Pakistan easily for which she had made her characters to speak of the context to the historical background. Furthermore, it can be well-stated that the audience can pin point the difficulties that people underwent during the time of separation. Undoubtedly, the literature which was published so far after 1947 made evident that the separation was not an easy event. But the movie rather takes an in-depth assessment of the ways in which people questioned about their identities. Despite the fact that people did not have to worry about their identity after the separation as they were in their own homeland, there was still an air of discomfort. The characters that have been shown in the movie have rather noted a more positive relationship between people from different cultures until the call for separation (Mehta 76). After the dreading events of mass killing of Muslims and Hindus, it was rather noted that the relationship b etween different cultures were divided on the basis of identities. Also, the furious yet brutal incident that have been projected in the movie such as the train in which the lead actorââ¬â¢s sister had to travel reached the railway station in a situation of no human being alive. The director has communicated with the audiences that on the basis of identities, women from both nations had to undergo rape. The train incident marked the holocaust act of the murderers where four

Asian Culture Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Asian Culture - Essay Example Companies such as Toyota, Honda and Hyundai slowly made a name through their efficient and affordable models competing with homegrown brands such as Ford and General Motors. The McDonaldââ¬â¢s catchphrase of ââ¬ËIââ¬â¢m lovin itââ¬â¢ has seen many translations in different countries to be consistent in each culture. Yes, to an extent there is truth that ââ¬Ëtrade follows manga.ââ¬â¢ Personally I have heard of ââ¬ËNarutoââ¬â¢ and seen it in passing. I have also seen kids with the same character on some of their things including the head band which the main character wears. I am not quite sure if ââ¬ËPokemonââ¬â¢ is a manga but as a Japanese anime it has been a constant sight in toy stores for years. But I have not bought any similar product nor had been propelled to buy Japanese brands for such reason. Yes, because hybrid advertising is the only way for them to reach out to that audience. It must be noted though that for most of these advertising strategies they target a specific demarcation which may already have in the first place an interest in the product. They do not have to please everybody especially overly conservative members of the population or else they run the possibility of losing the advertisementââ¬â¢s inherent content and message. What is acceptable is a personal conception and differs accordingly. Yes, I think that most countries are more accepting of Japanââ¬â¢s cuteness culture. It must be understood that most of these things cater to children and teenagers although there are still adult followings. What children like they like no matter what nationality they have. This is the same reason Disney movies or television shows are popular across the globe. Things like manga, anime and others are very appealing to particular demographics regardless of their geographical location. 6. As mentioned, new media microblogs are slowly replacing the traditional mainstream media, such as TV and newspapers. What do you think the new media will

Macro and Microeconomic Evaluation Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Macro and Microeconomic Evaluation - Essay Example According to the paper the deal is a positive economic incentive since to bring about positive behavior to me because it rewards people financially for making certain choices and behaving in a particular way. On March 2013, the prices of hamburger among other fast food products augmented due to increase in the price and tight supply of beef. The change in price affected the demand for hamburger, its substitute and complementary products. With $10, a consumer purchased four ground beef hamburger, which was enough for a family with two children. In retrospect, the increase in the price of beef made the family with $10 only to afford two hamburgers. The effect was experienced in almost all households, which leads to a decline in quantity demanded since the income does not change correspondingly and in response to the price increase. This paper highlights that the price change caused a disincentive to purchase a hamburger and people, including me shifted from hamburgers to a chub ground turkey. Despite my preference to the hamburger, the price change, without a corresponding change to income made me purchase fewer hamburgers. In this perspective, the quantity of hamburger that I demand for the month decreased. It means my consumption pattern changed from consuming 15 hamburgers per month to relatively ten hamburgers. I could not take this for long, so I had to abandon the desire for a hamburger and shift to cheap ground turkey. The behavior for consuming ground turkey changed from zero to 17-ground turkey per month.
