Unfortunately, the approach taken and being taken is to place a band aide over one problem and has never been to address the core of the problem. By educating the youth and impressing upon them the importance of equality and shared values we will see changes in the future through these younger generations. Why are the obvious solutions inadequate? By itself the education of the youth still leaves an entire generation (generation Y and X) without the benefit of understanding why racial profiling is wrong. As a result we must educate them as well, through job seminars and similar. What are the consequences of not solving the problem? The problem will cycle to another race with time, as it has throughout the history of the United States. 5. We should use education because the use of education will lead to understanding, equality and a truly blended society. By better understanding each other and our differences and learning to embrace those diffe rences we are better able to accept each person’s approach and less likely to use our lack of understanding to supplement our approach within the law.
